This song was written by 3 members of The Almanac Singers in 1941 and was recorded on their 1941 album (which was then a actual binder containing 3 78s) "Talking Union". You can buy this original album on this website HERE as a CD (along with some additional union songs Pete recorded in the 1950s when they created the LP version for Follkways Records.) 

The 2nd recording is off an LP Pete made for Columbia in 1967.
