40 years ago the folksinger and activist, Fred Small, was approached by a couple of women friends who asked him to write a song for their child affirming that their hope the she could "be anything you want to be". The result was Fred's anthem "Everything Possible" that has become an anthem for LGBTQ+ people and for all parents who want to encourage their children to live out their dreams authentically. The song has been sung by countless parents to their children and also recorded by women's choirs, LGBTQ choirs, children's musicians, etc.
On the 40th anniversary of the release of "Everything Possible", the acclaimed British children's illustrator wrote Alison Brown wrote asking if they could create a children's book together based on Fred's song. On the occasion of the book Fred created a new second verse that embraces gender diversity more fully and made a new recording of the song that can be accessed easily with a link included in the book.
This is the perfect gift for a child or grandchild who grew up with this song — or for any young person in your life to whom you want to offer the powerful and important message of this beautiful song — needed more than every today!
